Tell us about yourself?
I’m 39 and single stay at home mom of two boys, 13 and 10. I became a single mom almost 3 years ago when my husband unexpectedly passed away. I have the best dog (basset hound) named Poppy. I absolutely love hockey and I am a huge Preds fan.
How did you hear about Holly Douglas & Co and what made you want to book with us?
Honestly I just started googling photographers and Holly came up as one of the top boudoir photographers.
What was your initial reason for booking?
I have always wanted to do a shoot but always self conscious and never comfortable in my own skin. I am turning 40 in October and this is the year to do things out of my comfort zone and thing I’ve always wanted to do and stop holding myself back.
Did you have any expectations going into the shoot? What were they?
I didn’t really. I had looked at the portfolios before and knew the pictures would be beautiful.
Were you nervous about the shoot beforehand? If so, what were you most nervous about?
Surprisingly I was more excited than anything. I was just hoping I could look past being my own harshest critic and really embrace the pictures of myself.
Did you become more comfortable after the session started? If so, what helped to relax your nerves?
Courtney made me feel completely comfortable the entire session.
How did you feel during your session?
I felt very comfortable, excited, empowered.
Describe how you felt when you saw your images for the first time.
I was blown away and shocked that something like a certain movement or look can make something so beautiful.
What was your favorite part of the experience and why?
It was so fun taking the pictures but honestly being pampered with hair and makeup before was my favorite.
Has anything changed for you since your boudoir experience and seeing your gallery? How has boudoir impacted your body image as a woman?
It has empowered me and made me look at myself completely different. Also to try and not be my own worst critic when it comes to my body image.
What advice would you give to another woman considering a boudoir experience with Holly Douglas & Co?
DO IT!!! You seriously won’t regret it!
