Tell us about yourself?
38 yrs old, registered nurse, married with 5 kids and some grand children. I live on a farm , with goats, horses, pigs, honey bees, 2 dogs and several barn cats. For fun I enjoy reading, fishing, hunting, kayaking and horse back riding.
How did you hear about Holly Douglas & Co and what made you want to book with us?
Facebook. What made me book was seeing the before and after photos posted.
What was your initial reason for booking?
Work too much, outta shape, and just started not loving myself or what I seen when I looked at photos of myself or in the mirror. I had hoped it would make me see a side of myself I had lost.
Did you have any expectations going into the shoot? What were they?
Not really. Just hoped I didn't look awful in the photos.
Were you nervous about the shoot beforehand? If so, what were you most nervous about?
I was nervous that I would spend a lot of money and these photos were going to be awful and I would have wasted a lot of money on something I didn't even want to look at.
Did you become more comfortable after the session started? If so, what helped to relax your nerves?
No I did not, but had I, I am sure I would have been comfortable quickly because Holly and Courtney were like talking to old friends from the get go.
How did you feel during your session?
I had so much fun I forgot that I felt like I looked disgusting and shouldn't have any of my skin showing. I literally had the most fun I had in a while.
Describe how you felt when you saw your images for the first time.
Like I could actually be featured on something , like dang I could have been a model lol. I was very astonished that even before editing I looked really good.
What was your favorite part of the experience and why?
The neon lights set, I mean because glow paint and an 80's feel , I mean come on.....it was too much fun.
Has anything changed for you since your boudoir experience and seeing your gallery? How has boudoir impacted your body image as a woman?
It has made me want to get in better health so I can do another shoot and see even better pictures, if that's even possible.
What advice would you give to another woman considering a boudoir experience with Holly Douglas & Co?
Ummm, girl, just do it, but definitely get the bigger package because you’re gonna want 98% of the photos she took and it's too hard to narrow it down.

This was the best decision I had made in a long time. The hardest part now is finding a place to display them!

I am 26, recently married and we have two fur babies, Otis and Allie. I work in the cardiac cath lab When we’re not working, we love all things outdoors!
How did you hear about Holly Douglas & Co and what made you want to book with us?
I have followed Holly Douglas and Co for a WHILE on IG. I always wanted to do a boudoir shoot but never really felt that I had a good enough reason to make the investment.
What was your initial reason for booking?
I booked the session to make a photo book as a gift for my husband at our wedding. At the end of the day I had gotten SO much more out of the experience than just a gift for my husband!
Did you have any expectations going into the shoot? What were they?
I wasn’t sure what to expect honestly. But after seeing the portfolio online and comparing to other companies, I knew Holly Douglas and Co was the BEST option!
Were you nervous about the shoot beforehand? If so, what were you most nervous about?
I was pretty nervous! I have struggled with body dysmorphia for as long as I can remember. Even though I knew my now husband would love the photographs, I was really nervous I wouldn’t. I knew going into the session I would leave either feeling like absolute sh*t about myself or leave with confidence through the roof! Thankfully, I left my session feeling on top of the world!
Did you become more comfortable after the session started?
If so, what helped to relax your nerves? Yes I did! Courtney was so thorough in coaching and really hyped me up with each pose! Once I saw a peek of the first photo she took I was ALL in!
How did you feel during your session?
During my session, I felt a little silly in some of the poses thinking, “There is no way this looks good,” but once I saw my gallery I understood the vision for the photo! With each outfit change Courtney continued being my own personal hype girl! Never for a second that day did I feel anything less than beautiful! The ladies at Holly Douglas and Company are like your own personal hype girls! I was ready to book again before my shoot was even over!
Describe how you felt when you saw your images for the first time.
My first thought was “ no way that’s me” And filtering through and choosing my favorite photos was SO hard! Because ALL of the photos were amazing!
What was your favorite part of the experience and why?
It’s hard to pick a favorite, but if I have to choose… My gallery reveal was my favorite part! I saw myself and my body in a whole new light!
Has anything changed for you since your boudoir experience and seeing your gallery? How has boudoir impacted your body image as a woman?
I think I haven’t been as hard on myself for drinking beer and eating tacos, ya know? So what if I have a couple rolls when I sit or hip dips. I’m still sexy and beautiful and 100% worthy of feeling like I am!
What advice would you give to another woman considering a boudoir experience with Holly Douglas & Co?
Two words DO IT!!! Whatever your reason for not wanting to, get that out of your mind and just do it! You will have a blast and leave the studio feeling like a million bucks!

Tell us about yourself?
I am 61 years old. I turn 62 in April. My husband passed away last September. I wanted to do a photo shot for me. I spent the last 8 years taking care of my husband that went through 2 cancers, 2 heart surgeries and a mini stroke. My late husband and I retired to Ecuador 3 years ago. I came back to the Nashville Area in March for the birth of my 1st great-grandchild.
How did you hear about Holly Douglas & Co and what made you want to book with us?
One of my daughter-in-laws invited me to join the Facebook group after I lost my husband. So when they did the Black Friday Special and I had the dates to return to the states, I bought and booked my session.
What was your initial reason for booking?
I had never done anything like this before, but my outlook on life has changed a lot of the past 6 months. Life is too short not to do new exciting things. You never know how much time you have.
Did you have any expectations going into the shoot? What were they?
No not really, I had read other blogs , so knew it would be fun, and it was. Totally felt at ease during the whole process
Were you nervous about the shoot beforehand? If so, what were you most nervous about?
Being 61 and plus size, I was nervous about wearing the skimpy outfits, but I shopped around and found things I was comfortable wearing yet revealing. Brought more outfits than I needed, but it gave them plenty to choose from and the ones they picked were perfect for the different rooms and shots.
Did you become more comfortable after the session started? If so, what helped to relax your nerves?
Once I arrived I felt very comfortable. Everyone was great at explaining the process and made me feel right at home,
How did you feel during your session?
Completely at ease, the shots that we were trying to accomplish were not only explained but actually showed to me, I am a visual person so that helped tremendously,
Describe how you felt when you saw your images for the first time.
First I was blown away at how many images were taken. I was impressed with a lot of them before any were even edited or touched ups were made.
What was your favorite part of the experience and why?
Seeing the images and feeling so pretty and sexy, how they really made my eyes pop.
Has anything changed for you since your boudoir experience and seeing your gallery? How has boudoir impacted your body image as a woman?
I feel more comfortable and confident. Looking forward to actually wearing sexier clothes.
What advice would you give to another woman considering a boudoir experience with Holly Douglas & Co?
It helped me to actually make sure the outfits I brought I was comfortable in and they fit. I had several that I thought I would like but wasn’t comfortable with how they looked. So I would have been disappointed if I brought the ones I thought I wanted the photo shoot in. So do your homework about your outfits.
Would you recommend Holly Douglas & Co for the luxury boudoir experience to others?
Absolutely, they always answered any of my questions and were quick to reply to emails.
Is there anything else you'd like to add to your interview?
It doesn’t matter your age nor your weight. I highly recommend doing this for yourself. Don’t be afraid to step out of your comfort zone, you will be glad you did,

I have always wanted to do a shoot but always self conscious and never comfortable in my own skin. I am turning 40 in October and this is the year to do things out of my comfort zone and thing I’ve always wanted to do and stop holding myself back.
Did you have any expectations going into the shoot? What were they?
I didn’t really. I had looked at the portfolios before and knew the pictures would be beautiful.
Were you nervous about the shoot beforehand? If so, what were you most nervous about?
Surprisingly I was more excited than anything. I was just hoping I could look past being my own harshest critic and really embrace the pictures of myself.
Did you become more comfortable after the session started? If so, what helped to relax your nerves?
Courtney made me feel completely comfortable the entire session.

I felt very comfortable, excited, empowered.

I'm a 41 year old blissfully married woman. Originally from Nashville, my husband and I are childfree with two shelter dogs. I am a human rights advocate who loves writing and various forms of artistic expression.

I heard about Holly from Facebook and through Courtney. It sounded like an awesome opportunity and I grabbed it! Holly's work looked amazing and I had to do it!
What was your initial reason for booking?
I wanted to have the experience: play dress up and have an awesome time. That's exactly what happened!
Did you have any expectations going into the shoot? What were they?
My expectations were met AND were exceeded. I prepared for there not to be makeup or clothing that would match me but it turned out beautifully and I had an abundance of options for looks. Very surprised!
Were you nervous about the shoot beforehand? If so, what were you most nervous about?
I was a bit nervous. I was coming in using a walker, wearing medical devices and with one good eye. [Miss E. is a Type I Diabetic and recently broke her leg.] I hadn't met Holly yet. I wasn't sure how much I was going to need to explain or advocate for myself. Neither was needed, accommodations were happily made and we had an absolute blast!
Did you become more comfortable after the session started? If so, what helped to relax your nerves?
I became extremely comfortable once I met and giggled with the ladies. I talk quite a bit so conversations are greatly appreciated. Explaining each step and why was very helpful.
How did you feel during your session?
Awesome! It felt natural and a lot of fun.

Surprised is an understatement. Seeing the look come together and seeing myself right there in the middle was awesome! It looked like me, just a while lot spicier!

I honestly really enjoyed every part of it: meeting the ladies, checking out the studio, perusing the outfits, deciding on the best looks, the makeup, the laughter, the posing, the conversations and the big reveal...each portion was so much fun, I can't pick one part.

I'm silly, I wouldn't describe my natural state to be sexy. But the experience of stepping out of my norm has helped me to add more dementions to myself.

Tell us about yourself?
I've recently turned 40. My partner and I have been together for over 12 years. We don't have children but we do have 2 bunnies, so it's like having 2 permanent toddlers with attitudes. I've worked in a blend of health, fitness, and rehab for over 20 years and I'm fortunate enough to be an adjunct instructor in my field.
How did you hear about Holly Douglas & Co and what made you want to book with us?
I started seeing boudoir photography pop up on my TikTok feed so I started just looking at local companies as my 40th birthday approached. HDCO and a few others were at the top of my list, but after comparing images and costs, it was easy for me to feel comfortable that they were the ones that were right for me.
What was your initial reason for booking?
My first one was a gift to myself as I approached my 40th birthday. I also had never really had professional makeup and hair done and certainly had never had boudoir photos done. So, mostly, I had this burst of, "I'm going to do this for me because I want to and I deserve it."
Did you have any expectations going into the shoot? What were they?
I tried not to. I've learned over the years that professionals know what they're doing and they'll guide you because that's what they do. I think being open to see what the experience was helped me to not have nerves.
Were you nervous about the shoot beforehand? If so, what were you most nervous about?
A little bit. But everyone was so warm and welcoming that disappeared immediately. I did get a rush of nerves in those seconds right before you see the pictures, but those were good, excited nerves.
Did you become more comfortable after the session started? If so, what helped to relax your nerves?
Absolutely. I think it helped that the atmosphere was casual and chill, not uptight and rigid. It think it helps that I'm close in age to the photographer (s) and makeup artist so listening to music we all knew and talking made it seem like having coffee with friends.
How did you feel during your session?
It was just so fun. Both photographers I worked with were so encouraging and genuinely excited about their shots. The vibe was just very focused on taking great pictures and having a great time while doing it.
Describe how you felt when you saw your images for the first time.
Sometimes holding the poses you feel awkward or strained and it's so wild how you don't look strained or awkward in any of the images. I was afraid I might not like any of them, but some of them I honestly couldn't believe they were actually me because they were so incredible!
What was your favorite part of the experience and why?
I love pictures and organizing them, so I love sorting through and deciding what to keep (although that's also a little tortuous). I also love talking about the outfits I brought and figuring out what accessories and shoes they look best with.
Has anything changed for you since your boudoir experience and seeing your gallery? How has boudoir impacted your body image as a woman?
As I went through my 30s, I became so aware of the misogynistic and agist noise we absorbed and wanted to take back the idea that 40 was old. I'm not old, I'm an adult. I'm strong, I'm mobile, I can pick up heavy stuff. And you can see that.
What advice would you give to another woman considering a boudoir experience with Holly Douglas & Co?
Do it. There's no right or wrong person or age or body shape or type. All the nerves are good nerves. Do it for you.
Would you recommend Holly Douglas & Co for the luxury boudoir experience to others?
Absolutely. It's probably weird how much I encourage people to do it (like the girl who was ringing me up at Lululemon the day before my shoot).

What Exactly is Male Boudoir?

Tell us about yourself?
I am a 41-year-old single mom of two teenagers. I work full-time as a RN and a busy cardiac Cathlab. I truly enjoy my job. I get to help perform miracles every day.
How did you hear about Holly Douglas & Co and what made you want to book with us?
Instagram. I have been following Holly for a long time and I’ve always loved her work
What was your initial reason for booking?
I had boudoir pictures made back when I was married for my husband. I love the experience that I had then and the confidence that it gave me after seeing my pictures. Since then I have been divorced, and I’ve concentrated on my health and changing my body. I had the pictures made so that I could see myself for what I look like instead of just what I feel like and all the changes that I have been through
Did you have any expectations going into the shoot? What were they?
I didn’t have expectations. I had more hopes of what they would turn out like - believe me they met those expectations. My pictures were absolutely breathtaking!
Were you nervous about the shoot beforehand? If so, what were you most nervous about?
A couple of days before my shoot, I was looking through my emails to confirm my appointment and realized I didn’t have anything to wear. I sent an email to Holly with my concerns of not having time to shop or have anything to bring. She reassured me that it was fine, that she had plenty of options for me to choose from. They have a beautiful closet and she picked out beautiful pieces for me.
Did you become more comfortable after the session started? If so, what helped to relax your nerves?
I was nervous when I started, but then I just did what she said - main thing was to breathe and try to relax. She told me from the beginning that “if it bends were bending it, if it moves or moving it,” and that’s exactly what we did.
How did you feel during your session?
During my session, I felt silly. I felt like I was gonna look goofy in my pictures that my face was gonna be awkward that my body was gonna be awkward. That I wasn’t gonna like how my body looked, that I was gonna look to posed. You have a lot of things going through your mind when you’re taking pictures. None of these were even a concern after I saw my pictures.
Describe how you felt when you saw your images for the first time.
I was really nervous to see my pictures to see how I looked, to see how my body looked. My first look at my pictures I was in awe of myself - they were absolutely beautiful. I was like OH HELL this BITCH is hot 🔥! Is this really me? This is what I look like? I could not have asked for any better experience or photographer to have these done.
What was your favorite part of the experience and why?
To just get to do this for myself. To put everything aside and say this is something that I want for me and they made it happen.
Has anything changed for you since your boudoir experience and seeing your gallery? How has boudoir impacted your body image as a woman?
As a woman, you never see yourself the way everybody else does - you always pick out your flaws. Going through your pictures, you’re still gonna pick out your flaws, but that’s the only way that you can decide which picture you like better - they are all absolutely beautiful so they were so hard to pick from. That was the hardest part was deciding what pictures that I wanted because they were all the best of the best!!!
What advice would you give to another woman considering a boudoir experience with Holly Douglas & Co?
Just go in and relax and let them do what they love to do. When someone has passion for their work, you can tell and that’s what they do. Trust them and let them do an amazing job with your pictures.

Tell us about yourself?
I am 38 years young…. lol, okay but really 38 years old. I am currently going through a divorce from a marriage of 9 years. I work as a Medical Laboratory Scientist at a local hospital. My little Chihuahua is named Pixie. I have had her for 15 years and she is just as cute as ever and I’m constantly told she looks like a puppy. I love dancing and any kind of yoga… goat yoga, aerial yoga, hot yoga…. I love them all!
How did you hear about Holly Douglas & Co and what made you want to book with us?
I actually saw Holly Douglas & Co. on Instagram as a random advertisement I think. Boy, am I glad I did! I was interested from the first picture because everything was so pretty and sharp! She had made each person look like art, and her settings are unmatched to other sets I have seen. The images overall had a unique touch to them that I was just drawn to.
What was your initial reason for booking?
As I am going through a divorce, I wanted to show myself that I still got it, even after all this stress; I’ve got it! I had noticed my self-confidence dropped, and remembered I had built so much confidence with a boudoir photoshoot before, so this… this photoshoot was going to act as kind of a present to myself for being “released to the wild” again 🤣.
Did you have any expectations going into the shoot? What were they?
My expectations were to have a great day and feel like a sexy lady the entire day, especially during the photoshoot…. And I did!!! Holly is fantastic! She does it all! She by far exceeded my expectations as she made me feel not just sexy, but comfortable in my “sexiness.”
Were you nervous about the shoot beforehand? If so, what were you most nervous about?
I was definitely nervous. I just had an emergency surgery in September so my body has a few new scars that I wasn’t sure if I would be comfortable showing. However, Holly made all of those nerves and negative worries about my new scars go away instantly, as soon as I came through the door! The atmosphere of the studio is so relaxing as well that the entire experience was great without any of those pesky nerves.
Did you become more comfortable after the session started? If so, what helped to relax your nerves?
Once I got to the studio, Holly welcomed me through the door and made me feel welcome instantly. She had music playing, and the relaxing atmosphere relaxed my nerves immediately. Holly just has a way of making you feel comfortable and like you’re with a friend you’ve known for years.
How did you feel during your session?
I felt sexy and confident during the photoshoot. I chose items from the client closet and they looked so good and were even very comfortable. Anytime I felt nervous, or thought, ‘am I even doing this right?’ Holly would be there encouraging me and telling me how “pretty” or “smokin” I looked, which then would make me feel great & I’d get more confident and comfortable with each compliment. She also gave directions on how to pose and what to do with each arm and leg very well. I definitely felt like a goddess by the end of it.
Describe how you felt when you saw your images for the first time.
I could not believe how great I looked! She had me stunned, and again feeling like a goddess. I think I just kept repeating, “wow”and “NO WAY!” She made me not only look so beautiful, but feel it too!
What was your favorite part of the experience and why?
All of it. From the time I opened the door, to the time I closed the door exiting the studio; it was all a wonderful experience! Holly does it all, greets you with a calming energy & then becomes your hype girl. This made all of it fun! But, if I had to choose one moment, it would have been posing on the balcony while playing my guitar. I’m kind of a mix between a country & city girl. A balcony like that is where I would want to play if I actually lived in a big city. And I mean, it was kinda cool to be wearing hardly nothing on a balcony.
Has anything changed for you since your boudoir experience and seeing your gallery? How has boudoir impacted your body image as a woman?
Yes, I am learning to give myself some grace and quit being so harsh on myself with my body image. These images and this entire experience has shown me I am a goddess. I am gorgeous. I am beautiful and one sexy lady.
What advice would you give to another woman considering a boudoir experience with Holly Douglas & Co?

What was your initial reason for booking?

Did you have any expectations going into the shoot? What were they?
I expected to be a bit nervous, and I’d be lying if I told you I wasn’t. But Holly was beyond amazing at treating me as though we’ve known each other for years. I thought I’d feel silly sinking into my sexy side and I instantly felt like a FOX instead! Again, thanks to Holly and her coaching and incredibly positive feedback during the shoot.

Just slightly self conscious about being vulnerable and wanting to feel at ease during it all. It took no time at all to feel beyond comfortable.
Did you become more comfortable after the session started? If so, what helped to relax your nerves?
Holly is the absolute best when it comes to encouraging and championing your sexy, seductive, and confident side during the session. The makeup and hair session REALLY helped to boost my confidence, and honestly, hanging out naked in a beautiful robe while getting it done made me feel beyond confident in what the experience would bring!
How did you feel during your session?
Like. A. FOX. I was encouraged, cheered for, laughed with, like REAL laughter you share with a best friend, and captured on the most incredible light; metaphorically and physically.
Describe how you felt when you saw your images for the first time.
There’s a video of it and it says it all! I was stunned, speechless, and just in absolute AWE of the beauty Holly was able to capture of ME! I never in my wildest dreams thought I looked like that so to see it in real life was LIFE CHANGING for me. For my sex life!
What was your favorite part of the experience and why?
The nude session! I was soooo relaxed and confident at that point! It felt TRULY amazing to just relax and love my own body with nothing to hide behind!
Has anything changed for you since your boudoir experience and seeing your gallery? How has boudoir impacted your body image as a woman?
I am a more confident and sensual WIFE. I am a more gracious woman. I recognize my strength in my softness and I have never done that before.
What advice would you give to another woman considering a boudoir experience with Holly Douglas & Co?
Do. It. Splurge. You won’t regret it when you get your images. I will do a boudoir session many times with Holly as the years go on and I hope you do too!

Boudoir with Alopecia | Miss K’s Story
In her own words, Miss K shares her story about living with alopecia and describes what having a boudoir experience with HDCO meant to her.
Before packing up our former boudoir studio that was located in downtown Nashville to move into our new, luxury boudoir studio in East Nashville, TN, Holly Douglas had one final client to photograph in that space. That person was Miss K., a woman with alopecia. Holly couldn’t have asked for a better send-off photoshoot in the old studio, as Miss K.’s story turned out to be one the most impactful that Holly has ever encountered in her decade as a professional boudoir photographer.
But, rather than tell you about the photoshoot from Holly’s perspective, we wanted Miss K. to tell you her story herself and, in her own words, describe what a boudoir experience with alopecia meant to her. Please enjoy.
Miss K.’s Story
“Since the age of seven I have struggled with alopecia and its level of severity has varied. Last September it had gotten so bad that I decided to shave my head, shortly after that my eyelashes fell out and I was left completely without hair. It was a very difficult decision to make and have since dealt with assumptions about my health, why would I, a woman, ever shave my head, and painful interactions with total strangers on the street. I have always had low self-esteem, and this made that so much worse. I have always wanted to do a Boudoir session and that event sealed the deal. I was finally ready to commit, and my nervousness be damned!
When I found Holly’s company I was so impressed with the quality of her work and the testimonials coming out of her sessions. Leading up to my session I was so nervous that I almost backed out but thankfully I have an amazing boyfriend who encouraged me to follow through, so I pulled up my bootstraps and went. Upon arriving at the studio, Holly immediately put me at ease. She is kind, welcoming, empathetic, a hell of a listener, and let’s be honest, a badass and beautiful human. She puts her heart and soul into these sessions and her excitement is contagious and tangible. She is your biggest cheer leader and your best friend. Holly makes you feel at home and brings out a side of you that you never thought existed.
We are our own worst critics and deep down I know we all struggle with accepting other people’s compliments. It doesn’t matter how many times you hear, “you are beautiful” or “I can’t believe you have low self-esteem”, it seems that we are wired to see the worst in ourselves. This experience with Holly has melted away so many years of self-hate and self-doubt, and I can honestly say that I am amazed at how silly I have been. So many years wasted doubting myself and doubting what others have said. I owe myself an apology and this wouldn’t have been possible without Holly. When those pictures started to appear on the screen, I couldn’t help but be in awe at who I am and who I have always been. As tears rolled down my cheeks, I felt a weight fall off my shoulders. Holly has a beautiful gift and is incredibly talented at what she does.”

Tell us about yourself?
Hi! I am a 27 year old originally from Hershey, PA, but found my way down to Nashville to live with my best friends. While here I met my fiancé and we are getting married in May 2024! I love hanging out with friends, listening to live music, and being outdoors. I like to think of myself as an introverted extrovert where I’m shy at first or around big crowds, but when I open up, I can’t seem to stop talking!
How did you hear about Holly Douglas & Co and what made you want to book with us?
I heard about Holly Douglas & Co through a friend of a client, and after looking through Holly’s style, I was hooked.
What was your initial reason for booking?
My initial reason for booking is to give the shoot to my fiancé as a wedding gift.
Did you have any expectations going into the shoot? What were they?
I did not really have any expectations going into the shoot except to make sure I was as beautiful in my own skin and self confident in my abilities.
Were you nervous about the shoot beforehand? If so, what were you most nervous about?
I was not nervous about the shoot. I was actually quite comfortable and remember telling Holly that I felt very relaxed and comfortable.
How did you feel during your session?
I felt empowered and beautiful. My body moved in ways I didn’t think was possible and I felt more in tune with myself.
Describe how you felt when you saw your images for the first time.
I was shocked. I did not imagine being as gorgeous as I was and Holly did a great job making me feel so in love with myself. I felt beautiful and self confident in my own skin.
What was your favorite part of the experience and why?
I think my favorite part was getting all dolled up. I’m not a huge makeup person but felt gorgeous in my hair and makeup and the whole experience was very relaxing.
How has boudoir impacted your body image as a woman?
I am more self confident in the way I look and feel. I am more in tune with myself and now know my self worth more deeply.
What advice would you give to another woman considering a boudoir experience with Holly Douglas & Co?
My advice would be to do it! Holly Douglas & Co is a wonderful experience and the team makes sure to make you feel beautiful and empowered. It definitely is an opportunity to build self confidence.

Tell us about yourself?
I just turned 40 this year and am embracing it! I have 2 children and have been married for almost 10 years. I moved to TN from WI two years ago and am loving the change.
How did you hear about Holly Douglas & Co and what made you want to book with us?
Two of my sisters have done boudoir photoshoots in the past and told me how fantastic the experience was. I did a Google search and stumbled across Holly's website. To say her photos were stunning was an understatement. I knew she would be able to capture the experience and photos I was looking for, so I reached out :)
What was your initial reason for booking?
Originally I was thinking I would do the booking as a surprise 10th wedding anniversary gift. But as my appointment drew nearer, I knew this photo session was much more for me. I was feeling in a funk and wanted to feel powerful, sexy, desired again. Holly's photos and client feedback made me feel very confident I made the right choice picking her.
Did you have any expectations going into the shoot? What were they?
I didn't have any expectations going into the shoot, I was just hoping for a great experience.
Were you nervous about the shoot beforehand? If so, what were you most nervous about?
I was nervous! I am hyper critical and was worried I would not like my photos. Holly made me feel so comfortable immediately...she showed me pictures as she was taking them, and I was so shocked! They were beautiful, it made the whole experience so fantastic.
Did you become more comfortable after the session started? If so, what helped to relax your nerves?
I definitely became more comfortable after the session started. The poses, the feedback, the sneak previews all helped me relax and embrace the experience!
How did you feel during your session?
I felt great during the session. I felt like a real model, I had no idea how great I would feel.
Describe how you felt when you saw your images for the first time.
I cried! They were so beautiful. I just don't see myself like that...but Holly captured so many great images. [We’ve included a behind-the-scenes video of Miss J.’s emotional Image Reveal at the end of this blog!]
What was your favorite part of the experience and why?
I loved getting my hair and make-up done, I have only had professional make-up done once for my wedding. It felt so much fun to be pampered. The photo reveal was also really exciting and fun.
Has anything changed for you since your boudoir experience and seeing your gallery? How has boudoir impacted your body image as a woman?
I have seen some sneak peaks of the final pictures and it just makes me so excited to see the rest! Being wrapped up in 'mommy' world for the past 10 years, I have put myself on the backburner a lot. This experience was so empowering and made me feel so sexy.
What advice would you give to another woman considering a boudoir experience with Holly Douglas & Co?
Go for it! Holly really listens to what you are looking to achieve and turns it into reality!

Hi! I am 34 years old with two young kiddos. I work in hospitality so by trade my job is really fun! I love people and going out and trying new experiences - especially food! I am a big supporter of ensuring that my kids also learn to experience the world they are expected to live in so we travel as much as we can as a family!
How did you hear about Holly Douglas Boudoir?
I heard about Holly Douglas from a friend who did a session with her a few years ago prior to her wedding.
Why did you choose Holly Douglas Boudoir for your session?
Well, first of all - her style of photography is amazing. I love the artistic approach to each shot. Her studio is incredible and offers a lot of different options for shooting. I have followed her for years and also admired her work.
What made you decide to take the leap of faith and do a boudoir session?
What made me finally, actually book was 1. The pink tulle robe!! I knew I needed to wear it! and 2. I just felt like I needed something to remind me of how empowered and sexy I am after feeling like I was just a mom now. It definitely worked. It was so empowering and fun!!
Were you nervous about the shoot beforehand? If so, what were you most nervous about?
I wasn't so much nervous, as really excited. I think that the level of communication prior really helped me feel prepared.
Did you become more comfortable after the session started? If so, what helped to relax your nerves?
I felt like I was hanging out at one of my best friends place and we were getting ready to go out together. Arriving to the studio and meeting Holly just really solidified for me that I made the right choice. The music was great - they have literally thought of everything - and I work in hospitality so I pay attention to the details!
What was your favorite part of the experience and why?
I really enjoyed just getting ready - getting pampered is always fun - but the conversation flowed easily and it was so nice just chatting about everything and anything.
How did you feel during your session?
Awesome! The guidance in posing was easy to follow - even if some of the poses were like a straight up work out. If you take away one thing from the email - stretching is THE MOST important. I felt like I prepped well and I was definitely sore the day after my session :) But overall I really trusted the process - the positive encouragement - and getting to see some of the previews as we were shooting was a great motivator.
Describe how you felt when you saw your images for the first time.
OH MY GOD. They were so good. I just felt like I was myself again... or reminded of who I was prior to kids and life and a billion responsibilities. So much of what I do is for other people and doing this for myself was totally worth it to see the pictures.
How has your relationship with your body changed since your session?
I feel more confident. I definitely am more excited to incorporate some more sexy wear into my life - whether it's being daring in going out or more empowered in the bedroom. Things that I thought I didn't like - when you see them photographed in such a sexy way really make you appreciate the whole package!
What would you say to people who say they can't do a boudoir session because they are too shy, nervous, etc?
You know - you only live once. If it's something you are on the fence about but feel shy - book with Holly - she will make you feel comfortable, she will listen to you and you will feel so great after. Spend a couple of hours for yourself and realize your internal and external beauty!!
Anything else you'd like to add?
Just everything about this far exceeded my expectations. I literally traveled from another state to do this session and I would do it again. I came back home on a high and I would really encourage anyone who is on the fence to just jump!!

Holly Douglas’ Story
Back in 2016, I was heavily involved in a moms' group, a community that became a second family. It was more than just a group; it was a sanctuary where support, love, and understanding flowed freely. One of our own, a fellow mom, found herself in a heart-wrenching custody battle for her daughter. Moved by her struggle, I wanted to help in any meaningful way I could. That's when the idea struck: hosting a boudoir marathon.
The concept was simple but powerful – a series of boudoir sessions for the moms in our group. The goal was to raise funds for our friend's legal battle, but something more profound unfolded. As I photographed these incredible women, something magical happened. I witnessed transformations, not just in poses or outfits, but in how these women saw themselves. They arrived nervous, some doubting their beauty, their worth. Yet, as the sessions progressed, I saw them blossom. Their confidence surfaced, their inner strength and beauty radiating through every shot.
This experience was a revelation. I realized that boudoir photography was more than just taking sensual pictures. It was an avenue for empowerment, a tool for women to see themselves as they truly are – beautiful, strong, and worthy. It struck a personal chord with me, resonating with my journey as a survivor of domestic abuse and sexual assault. I understood the transformative power of reclaiming one's body and celebrating it, free from judgment or fear.
From that day, I knew my heart belonged to boudoir photography. It aligned perfectly with my core belief – celebrating individual beauty, promoting body positivity, and fostering an environment of inclusivity. It wasn't just about creating stunning images; it was about the experience, the journey of self-discovery and empowerment.
Since then, my career has been dedicated to this art form. I've had the honor of working with a diverse range of clients, each with their own story, struggles, and triumphs. Every session is a new opportunity to empower someone, to help them see their beauty, both inside and out.
Boudoir photography is more than my profession; it's my passion and my platform to make a difference. It's a celebration of who we are, in all our unique glory. It's about loving ourselves, just as we are, and capturing that love in timeless images.
That moment, back in 2016, was more than just a fundraiser. It was the beginning of a beautiful journey, one that I am grateful for every day. As I continue this journey, I am constantly reminded of the power of a simple photograph to transform, empower, and celebrate the incredible journey of being a woman.
Courtney Bell’s Story
When I decided to open my first photography studio waaaay back in 2004, the very first person who ever called my professional business number was a woman inquiring about a boudoir maternity session (but this was back before boudoir was really a “thing”). She said, “I’m over 40 years-old and I’m pregnant with twins. This is going to be my one and only pregnancy, so I really wanted to document and preserve the memory of my pregnant body with some tastefully nude portraits. But there’s a catch…” She went on to explain that she was actually calling me from her hospital room because the doctor had decided a few hours earlier that it would be best to induce her a little ahead of schedule, and she was scheduled to deliver her twins THE VERY NEXT DAY! Without hesitation, I said, “As long as you’re in a private hospital room, I’ll pack up a backdrop and some lights and be there tomorrow morning!”
And that’s exactly what I did. I was able to successfully transform her private hospital room into a makeshift photography studio for a few hours the next day, and we took some really beautiful, artistic, nude portraits. Then, just four hours after I left the hospital, my client delivered the most gorgeous set of twins! :)
Let me tell you, booking a nude maternity session as my very first paid professional photoshoot made me feel SO BADASS as a young photographer! More than that, though, I immediately understood this experience meant so much more to my client and her partner than simply having some nice maternity photos. It was about documenting this precious time in her life and the changes her amazing body underwent while growing two healthy babies. (No pressure, btw!)
A few weeks later, when she saw the edited photos for the first time, she cried happy tears and told me that she and her family were going to cherish these portraits forever. And that, ladies and gentlemen, is the moment my love of boudoir photography was born. (No pun intended.)
Twenty years later, helping women realize their worth and how beautiful they are is still my greatest passion. I’m so thankful and excited to have started the next chapter in my career as a proud member of the Holly Douglas & Co. professional boudoir photography team!

Tell us about yourself?
I am a 50 year old who recently married the sweetest, funniest, kindest, sexiest man on the planet! I am a mom of two and step mom to more. I love cooking, spending time with my family, sewing and crafting and traveling.
How did you hear about Holly Douglas Boudoir?
I was initially referred to Holly's Facebook group by a friend who had a session. I was super curious about boudoir and eagerly joined the group.
Why did you choose Holly Douglas Boudoir for your session?
Holly Douglas Boudoir does not take pictures of women in lingerie. Holly and her team create art. There is not other way to describe it. The use of light, expert posing and styling creates images that are of the highest quality. I knew that she could create something beautiful for me as well, despite my body issues. And, let me tell you she is a MAGICIAN when it comes to making you become comfortable in your skin. This was my second shoot and it was a couples shoot with my husband. He knew what an incredible experience I had the first time I had a shoot with Holly and was impressed by the images. When he agreed to do this with me, I knew the outcome would be amazing.
What made you decide to take the leap of faith and do a boudoir session?
I have seen the boudoir products friends have shared from other companies. The lighting is harsh, the backgrounds are drab and the posing is cookie cutter. Just because someone is wearing lingerie in a picture does not make it boudoir. Boudoir is more than that. With Holly, everything about each image screams boudoir. The use of props (like plants to shoot through to create unique visuals in the image) the texture of the fabrics on the furniture or backdrops, the subtle but sensual lighting all work in concert to create something beautiful.
Were you nervous about the shoot beforehand? If so, what were you most nervous about?
I think everyone is nervous before a professional photoshoot. When you know you are going to be revealing your body in sensual attire to a stranger (until you meet her and then you are friends for life) it is natural to feel like your stomach is full of butterflies. Before my first shoot, I was convinced she would take one look at me and send me home. I am not built like a model, my body has curves, lumps and bumps. This time I was less nervous, but knew that feeling would evaporate when I entered the studio. My husband is smoking hot, although he sees his body flaws when he looks in the mirror just like I do. He was nervous before we got there but I saw him relax when he met Holly. And, he is an photographer, so they bonded geeking out over the camera equiptment!
Did you become more comfortable after the session started? If so, what helped to relax your nerves?
Holly has a natural way about her that instanttly puts you at ease. She is genuine and sassy. It feels like she can see right into your soul and know who you are and what you need to feel empowered to make the experience the best it can be for you. She chats easily with you when you arrive, is a gracious hostess and sets the mood in the studio creating a relaxing vibe.
What was your favorite part of the experience and why?
My favorite part of this shoot was sharing it with my husband. Watching his face as Holly guided us through the poses was priceless. He loved seeing me in the lingerie but I believe he enjoyed feeling the sensuality in the poses with me even more.
How did you feel during your session?
The session flies by so fast that you forget you were nervous to begin with. The atmosphere in the room helps create a relaxed tone, leaving you to concentrate on the body shapes Holly asks you to create and not worry about anything else.
Describe how you felt when you saw your images for the first time.
When Holly shared the initial pictures with us, we were BLOWN AWAY. My husband's jaw was on the floor from the beginning. The images on the screen were erotic, soft and sensual. As each image comes up on the slide show, we could not help but be captivated by the way we looked together. It was phenomenal.
How has your relationship with your body changed since your session?
My husband and I came away from our session feeling more comfortable in our skin. We have always enjoyed seeing each other but may have been more shy about our own bodies. But, we have become more open to our own image in the mirror since seeing the amazing way we look from the objective lens Holly uses.
What would you say to people who say they can't do a boudoir session because they are too shy, nervous, etc?
I believe everyone, women and men, will benefit from a quality boudoir session with the team at Holly Douglas and Company. To say you deserve to see yourself as a goddess or god is empowering and uplifting. No one on this earth has a body 100% free from flaws. But, what happens in the studio is that the flaws are disguised by the practiced way you are dressed, posed and styled. You won't see them in the final product and that is what everyone deserves to see!
